In 2009, Northfield Savings Bank continued their funding for another three years to help Hunger Free Vermont expand the Hunger Council model to other areas of the state. With additional support from the Windham Fund, in 2011 the Hunger Council of the Windham Region was launched.

The Co-Chairs of this Council are:
Lisa Pitcher, Director of Our Place Drop-In Center
Margaret Atkinson, Executive Director of the Windham Child Care Association

The Council last met on Wednesday, September 21st. (Press Release Here) Recognizing that decent paying and stable jobs are critical for food access and financial stability, the Council heard from representatives of three different job education / training programs in the region. The Council also celebrated the contributions of Katherine Jandernoa, who is stepping down from the Co-Chair role after 2 1/2 years of leadership. Margaret Atkinson, Executive Director of the Windham Child Care Association, will be assuming the Co-Chair role alongside Lisa Pitcher.
